According to their average molecular weight, they can be divided into three categories: low, medium, and high molecular weight. According to its structure, it can be further divided into non-ionic, anionic, and cationic types.

In the papermaking industry, as a papermaking chemical, its effectiveness cannot be compared to a single characteristic of PAM, especially in terms of retention and filtration, it can improve the speed of offline filtration and reduce the loss of fiber fillers. It has a promoting and compensating effect on the smoothness and strength of the finished paper.

Mainly used for municipal sludge dewatering and activated sludge treatment: generally using medium to high electricity, medium molecular weight cationic acrylamide.
